A |     1박2일 장학증서 수여식21년간 682명에 84억원                   포스코비전장학생들이 26일 강원도 평창 스테이 1538에서 열린 장학증서 수여식에서 기념 촬영을 하고 있다. 사진 제공=포스코청암재단포스코청암재단이 26일 강원 평창군에 위치한 사내 휴양시설인 ‘스테이 1538’에서 서울대, 포항공대(POSTECH), 카이스트(KAIST) 등 전국 29개 대학의 포스코비전장학생 40명에게 장학증서를 전달했다.재단은 2006년 포스코비전장학 제도를 도입한 이래 올해까지 21년간 총 682명에게 84억 원의 장학금을 지급해 왔다. 선발된 장학생은 졸업 때까지 최장 7학기 동안 학기당 250만 원의 생활장학금을 지원받는다.1박 2일 일정으로 열린 이번 수여식에는 ‘한국유학장학’ 프로그램을 통해 국내 대학에서 석·박사 과정을 밟고 있는 해외 장학생들도 동참해 문화와 경험을 공유하는 시간을 가졌다.재단 관계자는 “장학생들이 학업에 전념하는 것은 물론 다양한 경험과 교류를 통해 역량을 키울 수 있도록 적극 지원할 것”이라며 “장학생들이 더 넓은 세상 바라보며 미래를 이끌 인재로 성장하길 기대한다”고 말했다.포스코청암재단은 우수 인재를 발굴하기 위해 매년 전국 주요 대학과 포항·광양시청, 지역 고등학교, 장학금 지원 플랫폼 등과 협력해 왔다. 특히 올해는 기존 포항·광양 출신 학생뿐 아니라 해당 지역 소재 대학 신입생까지 선발 대상을 넓혔다.。    Jet engine maker Rolls-Royce said Tuesday it's cutting up to 2,500 jobs globally as part of a corporate overhaul that its new CEO is carrying out. The aerospace company was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic that decimated demand for air travel. Tufan Erginbilgic, who took over as chief executive in January, said the layoffs are aimed at making Rolls-Royce “more streamlined and efficient." Rolls-Royce, based in Derby, central England, didn't disclose where jobs will be cut, but around half of its 42,000-person workforce is based in the United Kingdom.The cuts will remove duplication and bring cost efficiencies in the latest stage of its “multi-year transformation," the company said. “We are building a Rolls-Royce that is fit for the future," Erginbilgic said. The company slashed 9,000 jobs globally in 2020 as it grappled with the collapse of air travel during the pandemic.The new turnaround plan also includes creating a new company-wide procurement division that can take advantage of Rolls-Royce's size to cut costs and reduce supply chain delays.。
